In the Detroit Community School District the students have not been in the classroom since March 12 2020. I need your help because many of my students live in difficult socioeconomic conditions which now has the added stress of a global health crisis. Sixty-six percent of the students in my elementary school are African American. Their families are more vulnerable to COVID-19 and no doubt many are fearful about learning in-person. With your help, my goal is to focus on creating an environment of learning in which health and safety will be one less worry. On behalf of my students, thank you in advance for your support.
