These items will be helping students use their many senses to reinforce learning of various content area topics using an integrated approach. The drums and rhythm set are used during music. Students will identify the instruments and learn how to use them and make music. In addition to having a music experience, students will be reinforcing science concepts of loud and soft sounds and discriminating the different sounds that each instrument makes. The sorting items will reinforce many math concepts such as color, size, shapes and counting. Learning to categorize and sort helps children with memory skills. Children learn what is the same or alike and group them into attributes or traits. All of these items support the tactile, auditory, and visual strategies needed to continue to encourage engagement in the learning process.
