Communicating without words. Risk-free learning. Shared experiences. Therapeutic movement. Our students deserve an opportunity to shine together and to feel empowered. Through dance, they will have these opportunities. The art of dance meets you where you are and progresses with you. Through dance classes, our students will have opportunity to engage with each other and explore their own emotions. They won't need perfect handwriting or precise speech to communicate during these classes. Through dance classes, our students will develop imitation skills, body coordination, and self-confidence. They won't be tested or held to any grade level standards. Through dance classes, our students will have a chance to shine and feel empowered individually and as a group. These classes will include stretching exercises, basic ballet moves, improvisation, and guided dance opportunities. The students will receive instruction from an experienced instructor who has a specific interest and expertise in working with students with special needs. These classes will be held in the students' classroom and their teaching staff will share the dance experience with them!
