My students are eager to create and/ or participate in various contests throughout the year. Ensuring that our supplies stay full and maintained through the year allows for quality artwork and more options for media and exploration. When the markers run dry or all the pencils get used up, it becomes challenging to put out the best quality artwork. In my art class I try to provide helpful learning materials and tools that connect to lessons pertaining to core class topics such as math, literacy, and science. I try to provide them with a variety of materials to aid in the learning connections that can be made through art and perhaps create new found interests. My students will benefit from having more supplies to last the year, keeping us from being limited to our use in lessons, centers, or contests. I try to allow freedom for exploration, expression, and creativity in my art class. May my class be a time students are able to find a positive outlet, inspiration, or adventure out of our small rural town into the world of possibilities for their future.
