A room with new sensory items will provide my at risk children a special place to explore, to self regulate and to make sure their sensory needs have been met. This will also allow them new experiences and interacting with others. My room will be a safe environment with soft objects, lights and sounds for them to explore and do so without risk. Slime is a fantastic tool for sensory play, and a great calming activity and help to develop fine motor strength. The kinetic sand will provide a hands on material that they can squeeze, poke and pinch with their hands and using the magna-tiles they will identify shapes and colors and they will begin to develop their engineering skills.
