This year, my students have begun to bond over Pete the Cat. I work with a group of students who have a difficult time with social interactions and often struggle to find things in common with their peers. Since Pete the Cat has not only inspired them to read (they love the books), but also to get to know each other, I want to give them a space that includes their favorite cat. While we read many things in class, we always come back to Pete the Cat. The light covers help keep the lighting in the classroom a bit more subdued which leads to a calmer day. As much as I'd love to leave the lights off all the time, as it gets darker in the winter months, that can be tricky! I have some super cool token boards that I've built for incentives this year, which is what I need the Velcro dots for. These things will be well-loved, well-used, and greatly appreciated!
