Flexible seating is a great way for my students to take ownership of their learning. Many students in my classroom struggle to stay focused and need to move in order to concentrate. Giving my students opportunities to swivel, wiggle, and bounce will help them shift their attention to classroom activities. Beyond the physical benefit of flexible seating, these resources also help students advocate for their needs. By having access to these materials, students can determine which resources best fit their learning styles and needs. As students understand what best works for them, they will be able to apply that knowledge to other classrooms, increasing student engagement throughout the school day.
