Most of us get restless or antsy during meetings or while working at our desks. Imagine being a restless student with a disability and having to sit through school all day long trying your best to focus and learn when it's already difficult for you! Many of my students feel this way throughout the day while they do their best to pay attention and engage in classroom lessons and activities. Middle school students spend so much of their time sitting in a classroom and in order for them to be engaged, they need to be comfortable! As a Special Education Teacher in an integrated co-teaching classroom, it is my responsibility to provide my students with that opportunity. By donating to this project you will allow my students to have an outlet for their high energy levels and sensory needs without distracting others in the class. Continuous movement while sitting relaxes the right side of the brain leading to better focus and learning. Flexible seating is very beneficial for young active minds. I can't wait to see the benefits that Wobble Chairs will bring to my classroom!
