Restocked library and supplies for the classroom. Markers run dry when students are hustling to write answers on the board. Pens run dry when there is real work around editing and improving student work. Theses are necessary things of a classroom. The need for appropriate literature that reflects the students reading it is dire. Without this responsible option, students' perspectives are limited. My students want and need this. As part of their curriculum, all students are "required" to read for 30 minutes a day, but it's not a requirement. It's an opportunity. Of course my Social Studies students need to read the "Invisible Man" by Ralph Ellison, but, more importantly, they want to read it and more books like it.
