I teach approximately ninety 7th grade students in a double-period Language Arts class. They attend a California suburban middle school - with the most diverse population (economic, language, and race) in our district. I teach approximately one-third of the students in our school. My plan is to share these resources with the other teachers at my site - who also teach seventh grade Language Arts - so that every 7th grade student in my school will have the opportunity to read a recently published high-interest novel. My students do not all love to read, but I want them to experience an exciting book as a part of the curriculum - so they realize they will continue to study exciting literature in school
