Art is an expression of self, both the positives and negatives, that children from all backgrounds need to embrace. These materials I am requesting will help me work with students on exploring the creative geniuses within. The goal is to teach the students to use these crafts to make t-shirts or mugs or whatever they can think of that will be a physical representation of their creative minds. Lots of times kids from lower socioeconomic backgrounds lack the connection to art and the many ways it can open their eyes to the greater world around them. I want them to see that any idea, no matter how small, can be brought to life. It is my hope that this may even turn into an after school club. The idea is that children will have a safe space to create and explore a potential business for the future. I want these young minds to engage fully and see that anything is possible.
