I have the opportunity to work with amazing students that sometimes have difficulties regulating their emotions and interacting with peers. Most often, these students are great young people who have not had support from home or are victims of trauma. As a learning lab technician, I work with this important population of young people. We work on problem solving skills, social and peer interactions, and coping with their changing emotions. The materials that I have requested will give these students opportunities to role play and interact with their peers, with games in a safe, nurturing environment. For many students, social and emotional skills are not learned at home. These games and sensory items will give my students that support in my learning lab.
