Many of the items in my cart will help to ensure that the students in my classroom get the opportunity to participate in small group games with other students. My hope is that this will promote many of the social skills that students are lacking due to the amount of time absent from the school setting because of COVID-19 shutdowns or distance learning days. I am finding that many of the 2nd grade students need extra support in math concepts so I am requesting several different supports to help motivate students to engage in math games. I'm also requesting read aloud books that deal with social-emotional skills to help spark conversations about feelings and thoughts as we move forward in uncertain times.
