The adjustable teaching table will allow me to work with a small group of students during our reading centers each day. As I work with one group of students for guided reading, other groups rotate through the literacy centers in the classroom. Students in my classroom vary greatly in their literacy needs and ability levels; therefore, it is important for them to have a space that allows me to work with them in a small group setting. Making learning fun motivates students and helps them stay focused on the subject. Game-based learning plays an important role in my classroom. It teaches students to collaborate, communicate, and work in teams. Sight words are a huge part of first grade. The Pop For Sight Words Game, Pop for Blends Game, and Sight Word Swat a Sight Word Game will be perfect for our centers. Students will be able to use their critical thinking skills while playing a game. This project will enable all students in the classroom to be engaged in their learning experience.
