I am a first year teacher for 18 high energy kindergarten students all eager and ready to learn. A document camera will allow me to properly model instructions so that every student can see and understand what is expected of them. Trying to stand in front of the room to explain what is being asked is difficult with a room of 5 and 6 year old students. If I can properly model the instructions the students will know exactly what the instructions are. The document camera will project the learning materials, worksheets, books, and projects onto the SMARTboard in the classroom. This document camera will help all kinds of learners (visual, linguistic, and kinesthetic). Students will benefit from being able to see and follow along when I am teaching. My classroom is filled with a variety of diverse learners and I would love to be able to reach each and every one of my students as every child deserves the chance to learn. I am also requesting help in purchasing a set of lapboards for the students. Each student will be able to use their own whiteboard during whole group discussions at the carpet to show their understanding in math, spelling of sight words, and their letters. The students love to write on the whiteboards in the room, so having their own little lapboard will help keep them focused during whole group lessons. The boards will also be used during small group lessons to help with their fluency and understanding of the information they are learning. By donating to this project, you will help to improve and increase student attention and focus while also increasing their academic achievement.
