We are a large urban public high school in California with roughly 40% of students from low income families receiving free or reduced lunch. My students are hard-working and are trying to get ahead, making the most of the resources we do have. I run a college-prep program with high expectations. When my students leave my classroom, I hope they have experienced a lot first-hand with hands-on labs and activities and seen demonstrations of phenomena in addition to their STEM homework.
