These materials will help foster growth in literacy skills in my classroom. Young students learn best with hands-on activities. They learn the alphabet the more they hold and manipulate the letters in their hands. The alphabet rocks will be used to put abc's in order, make words, to count etc. They understand a story better when they participate with the storytelling. I will use the felt pieces and Pete the Cat puppet to engage each child while I am reading the story. I will use the laminator to make a print rich environment using a word wall and labels. I need them to be laminated to last throughout the year.
