Research has shown that students cannot learn if they are experiencing negative emotions. I would like to convert a corner of my classroom into a calm down corner, to help my Kindergarteners learn to self regulate their big emotions. Having a quiet place to calm down and think things through will help my students in having better behaviors, thus they will become more able to learn the important skills needed to become readers! The products I have selected have been proven to help students be able to self regulate their emotions and calm themselves in order to use their minds and bodies for learning.
