My students have not taken many art classes. I want to have my students begin sketching and create visual journals in their sketchbooks in order for them to practice. I also want to incorporate them as visual journals because many of my students are living with trauma and this can be an outlet for them to reflect and create. My students are not confident in their work yet and I believe using a sketchbook will really help them develop ideas and practice. I have brought my own sketchbook in and the students have asked if they can get one as well to work in. I truly believe in the sentence practice makes perfect and I want my students to have the same experience as other art classes.
