These materials will enable students to apply their thinking and processing skills to explore the phenomena based learning as directed by the NGSS standards. Our school district and community are limited, and so only funding for basic supplies is being supported. The district provided a minimal amount for each student and have restricted what we can ask parents and families to provide. I am concerned this will impact student learning and growth. Our students will create a science notebook which they can take with them in future years and use as a resource to review prior to taking federally mandated standardized assessments. Past students have indicated how beneficial it was to have such a comprehensive notebook with them for review.
