Our class set of the "The Cay" by Theodore Taylor has worn out through many years of hard use. We share this class set with other English classes at our school, so it gets well used. As we read and discuss this book together students have meaningful conversations about racial tension, blindness, and working together to overcome adversity. The projects that come out of this book are some of the highlights of the year for my students. By helping to fund a new class set for us, you can help a new group of students experience the valuable lessons found in this classic novel.
