Kindergarten students are my favorite people! I am so lucky to spend my day helping them learn and discover in many new ways. These little people need to be able to see, touch, explore and have the freedom of choice to keep them engaged. In my classroom, I like to offer students many choices throughout the day because it empowers and motivates them to learn. Kindergarten students also need to be able to move their bodies throughout the day to stimulate their brains and better enhance learning. Soft scape flexible seating options help to increase learning by giving students the freedom of choice and in some cases the freedom to move their bodies while learning. The round cushions and donut seats can be utilized at a low table for writing and math, as well as in the classroom library for a cozy spot to read. Cushions also provide a visual and spatial awareness for students who are challenged with keeping their bodies in their own personal space. Soft scape modular stools provide an ergonomic seating option for students to wiggle and move their bodies while working. Traditional chairs can sometimes be challenging for some students to sit upright without slipping off while they work. I want to provide my students with the freedom of choice for seating in my classroom, by providing floor cushions, modular stools, or even cushioned covered crates that can also serve as storage for their belongings in addition to the traditional chairs and standing options I currently have available. Thank you for considering this project and bringing fun, flexible seating to my kindergarten students!
