Scholastic News is a resource that all students can benefit from. I have used Scholastic News in my classroom with 5th graders and they absolutely love it! Reading current events in a kid friendly way sparks their interest and discussions in what is happening around the world. They are not only becoming informed, but they are aware and can be proactive members of society. As they read, they are also getting a cross-curricular approach in their learning, such as social studies, reading, science, etc. I love how this resource includes digital videos and leveled articles for my students who read below or above grade level. The graphic organizers help my students who need scaffolding. I would love to implement a tool like Scholastic News magazine in my classroom.
