Big Books with Storytelling Kits will give my students a hands-on opportunity to interact with the text and be engaged. We have one big book with props, and it has proven to be a success with my students. My students love using props, puppets and visuals during story time. They hold on to their props and look forward to being part of the story. During story time, it is difficult to keep all of them engaged long enough to focus on the story. The props and activities provide them with concrete objects that promote the connection between the words in the story and their meaning. These kits help promote children’s comprehension, as well as develop their language and listening skills that will help them reach their highest potential to a successful kindergarten transition and beyond.
