A-B-C..Easy as 123...Or it is as easy as 123? It’s not always that easy, but the world of education is full of materials that will make the ABC’s and 123’s so much easier for my sweet kiddos! Think of it this way: A says /a/ like apple. B says /b/ like ball. We can count the fuzzy paws on a puppy, and find that there are 4. As adults, we know all of that. Many typical 4 and 5 year-olds know it, too! However, for many of my pre-kindergarten students, learning letters and numbers just isn’t that simple. The amazing minds in my classroom need a variety of engaging letter and number activities. Having a wide variety of fun games helps their brains make lasting, meaningful connections. When learning is fun and accessible, frustration and fatigue decrease and love, giggles, and understanding increase! While they continually amaze me with the ways they persevere and break down barriers, my children need more hands-on materials to make the concepts of letters and numbers concrete and accessible. As their teacher, I am passionate about creating a classroom that provides them with the comfort and safety of knowing that they will be able to learn what I’m teaching, because there are many fun things in our room to help them!
