Stress can affect focus and learning, but it’s impact can be reduced with proven self-regulation strategies. Tools such as sensory tiles and textures, a weighted lap blanket and light curtain will create a peaceful sensory room environment for when students are in crisis. Fidget tools, stress balls, & therapy putty will be used in all our classroom calming corners where our students are able to practice self-regulation and return to instruction ready to learn. The tools we wish to provide will help our school community to be a peaceful and positive learning environment where all our children are able to experience the joy of learning, feel valued and empowered to succeed. Help me furnish our newly designated sensory room and replenish our classroom supplies for self-regulation.
