The demands of a school day often fatigue my students, especially those diagnosed with autism and visual impairments. Their bodies and eyes get tired, which stalls their learning. In an effort to reduce sensory input, I would like these light covers for my classroom. They would be fitted over my current ceiling lights, changing the overall lighting and feel of the room. Since we have an internal classroom, our only lighting is from the harsh fluorescents, and this contributes to sensory overload and eye strain. These covers would help contribute to a more calm and tranquil classroom environment, which would help students devote more energy to learning. Students would not have to work as hard at ignoring the unpleasant sensory input, and could focus on other needs instead.
