Offering students a variety of seating options has allowed them to take ownership of their learning needs. Kindergarten students are able to recognize that they need different things to help them be successful. I allow my students to try different options and choose one that fits their needs. Having the children use wobble stools, or the balls that they can bounce on, gives them an opportunity to move in an appropriate way. It gives them a chance to get out some extra wiggles, while still being productive. This will help to keep their attention longer and meet the needs of many different students. This project will benefit regular education students, special education students and students with sensory needs. The children love having options and they are able to learn how to use the seating appropriately at a young age.
