I strive for my students to become problem solvers as well as independent thinkers. A fun and engaging way to accomplish this task is to use Lego WeDo kits in the classroom. We used the WeDo 1.0 kits in the past and the students loved creating robotics and using coding to make them move. However, these kits are no longer compatible with the program Scratch which is the coding program used. I would love to bring robotics back to my school with the new Lego WeDo kits in order for the students to be problem solvers and independent thinkers, a life lesson that will benefit our entire community. I would use the WeDo kits in my classroom during STEM lessons as well as offer the kits to my colleagues so many students could benefit from learning to think and problem solve in a fun and engaging format.
