My small, but growing, classroom library puts books right in front of my busy, over-scheduled students who don't go to bookstores or the school library. This removes obstacles to reading, and by building a culture of readers in our class, encourages reluctant readers to give books a chance. With high-interest, engaging titles from a variety of genres, students are excited to see themselves represented on our shelves! These selections include titles from underrepresented communities, ensuring that all students feel valued and included, and increases exposure to new ideas for all readers. From class favorites like John Green, to books that bring insight to their experiences of others like Nickel Boys and Educated, these books will not stay on the shelves for long!
