Flexible and alternative seating in a classroom allows students the freedom to make choices for their own learning. By giving them choice I am helping them advocate for their own needs to make them more successful in the classroom and beyond. Comfortable and engaged learners also help reduce behavior problems and will increase engagement. Alternative seating will allow students the opportunity to spread out across the room and create their own appropriate learning space. Having tools in a classroom and learning how to use them to increase product learning time is a lifelong skill. Ultimately, this attention to increased engagement will lead to greater student success.
