Whiteboards are at work each day in our classroom. We use whiteboards during reading and math. We write our sight words, beginning sounds, and learn to write sentences during reading. In math the whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. We write equations, learn to draw shapes, and solve math problems using our whiteboards. The "Kinders" learn to write and read on our carpet with their dry erase boards. With all the technology readily available, I find it important to continue to teach this generation of students how to write using traditional tools.
