Our carpet is the meeting place for the students and the teacher. Class meetings take place, students hear stories, and a community is created. When students gather around the carpet with their teacher, they are getting a closer look at their learning and exploring it together. This specific carpet has calming green colors to help avoid overstimulation to the students in my classroom. It helps to foster an environment that is comfortable and relaxing. Our carpet is what makes the classroom turn into a home for my students. The students in my classroom will have the opportunity to have a place where we can come and experience learning together. Organizational skills are very important to teach, especially at such a young age. Seat sacks will teach my students organizational skills, responsibility, and life skills. Each student will have the opportunity to learn these skills and apply them for years to come.
