Calm, focused, and ready to learn! Sometimes it takes more than a welcoming and caring adult for a child to be calm and focused enough to work on academics. Help us to create a “library” of sensory tools to offer our students as they learn to regulate their bodies and emotions. Our students can learn strategies to self-regulate if we can give them the right tools. Each person has different social-emotional and sensory needs so we will need a variety of tools. Some of those tools will be noise-reducing headphones, weighted blankets, and chewies. A calm focused student is able to attend to instruction and learn. I know our students would appreciate this chance to develop these life skills.
