All of my students are disabled and need help regulating their emotions and being able to calm down. Since my students do not have the emotional regulation that typically developing students have, they need some extra help. Having weighted blankets to use to decompress from a melt down, or even better to prevent a melt down, would benefit the learning structure for the students individually and for the whole class. These weighted blankets will help them feel safe and calm them down during the school day, which can be scary for any kindergartener, but for one with special needs, they need all the extra support they can get to have a happy day at school.
