Reading in art class?! I have encountered this statement many times during my years as an art teacher. Students need to know that literacy is important in every classroom. These magazine will give my students on-grade level materials that connect directly to the arts. The magazines feature an artist or artistic style every month and provide both a depth and breadth of information relating to the visual arts. High interest articles and student artwork examples allow middle school students to access the content held within these magazines. Reading provides another opportunity for me to hit key academic art related vocabulary.
