Our classroom is centered around our community circle carpet. This is where our engaging and collaborative learning happens. I often teach lessons and lead discussions on the carpet where students need to feel like they have their own personal space. This carpet will provide that for students. It will be a gathering space for our morning/afternoon meetings, read alouds, discussions, and so much more.
The donation to this project will provide a personal learning space for each student, which in turn will help to improve students' understanding and competency of various learning standards in a meaningful and engaging way.
The fluorescent light diffusers will also help to create an inviting and relaxing environment. Often fluorescent lights can cause headaches that make learning and focusing difficult. Since my classroom does not have any windows, having the diffusers will allow that relaxing lighting that is essential in a classroom. Please consider helping me by donating to this project!
