My goal is to create a space for students to come to when they are feeling over stimulated and need a few minutes to calm down. This will help them be more productive in and out of the classroom. Every student at my school has experienced some sort of traumatic event in their life. When students experience trauma, it can affect them physically, mentally, and emotionally. Using these materials, I will be able to design a trauma-sensitive space for students to decompress and feel safe and supported. Having this space will allow students to focus on the present and it will help them concentrate in class.

About my class
