Readers workshop is a great way to help students become better readers. Student have their own book box with books that they have picked out. I like to have fiction books, non-fiction book and magazines as options for students to fill their book boxes. Getting students to read can be a struggle but if you have a varied of books that can spark their interest than there is no turning back! Choice is powerful! Also having a variety of books allows students to continue reading instead of having to go and choose a different book. My students already have shown an interest in independent reading, and this project will only help grow their love for reading!
