For most students in my class, this is their first time being in school. This year in kindergarten sets the stepping stones for their educational journey. Some of the foundational skills being taught in math are basic number sense, one-to-one correspondence, basic addition and subtraction, and much more. If children do not master these skills early on, they will have difficulty in their upcoming school years. Students have different learning styles, so these pop fidget manipulatives will help reach all students. My students will be able to practice counting one-to-one correspondence by popping the bubbles as they count. They can use these in partner work when learning number sense. They can also use these pop its with a partner when learning about addition. There are many other ways we will be able to use these pop-it fidgets to strengthen their Math skills. We start the year learning numbers 1-10, my students will be able to use these pop fidgets to learn how to count one-to-one correspondence. They will also be able to use them in partner work when we are learning about number bonds and addition. In addition to the examples given, there are many other ways I plan to implement them to help strengthen their math skills.
