I currently have an empty room to build a program for students 14-22 that involves steps to get them out working productively in the community. My dream and vision for my students is to have mock set ups of a grocery store, retail store, cafe, office, and library. I these areas, students will work on stocking shelves, bagging groceries, using a cash register, stocking coffee cups, lids, napkins, and different types of office jobs. Once they have mastered skills in the areas that they prefer, they can take these skills out into the school community and then into the community they live in. I am starting this program because quite honestly there are very few out there that focus on student preferences and helping them become a part of their community. I am very excited to set up and get started but I need help to get there! The items I have requested will help to simulate real life jobs so that my students can learn the skills before they go out into the community.
