My school recently provided 1:1 technology for all students! Kindergarten has received iPads and we are so grateful. iPads provide Kindergarten students with such confidence as they know how to navigate the tool already. One way these iPads will be helpful is during station time. I meet with a smaller group of students to provide instruction at their appropriate level. All other students are independently working on reading or math skills. This is an ideal time to integrate the iPads. Some resources students will use are Reading A to Z App to listen to books; Starfall App to improve their foundational reading and math skills, and Happy Numbers App to provide individual math practice. All of these Apps are helpful for Kindergarten students as the Apps read the directions for the activities. Although we received an iPad for every student, our school is unable to provide us with headphones and headphone jack extenders. These accessories are very important because they allow for a productive learning environment in which each student is able to hear and focus on their device while they work. Headphones and headphone jack extenders will greatly improve my students' ability to work independently with their devices with little to no distractions. In addition to utilizing these devices in small group lessons, they will also be helpful for whole group instruction and assessment purposes. These items would be extremely helpful to limit distractions and provide my students with an ideal learning environment. Your donation would provide my students with sturdy, reliable and quality headphones and headphone jacks that can be used for years to come. With your help, I can ensure each of my students can have fun, individual and meaningful learning experiences!
