Motivating students to read can be difficult sometimes. However, if we can build a fun reading space with enticing books that students will WANT to get their hands on, then I really feel we can turn reading time into a "want to" rather than "have to" activity! By creating a fun space in our classroom for reading books, students will feel comfortable and enjoy their time when reading. My goal is to create enjoyment out of reading for each and every one of my students. We currently don't have any library furniture where students can get comfortable and read as if they were relaxing at home. Student desks and chairs can be quite uncomfortable during long periods of time, which is why I'd like to add comfortable chairs, pillows, and good books to our new library.
