In my 7th grade science classes, we spend time learning about the weather and atmosphere. Some of the topics we discuss are greenhouse gases, the water cycle, air pollution and the different layers of the atmosphere. By having infrared lamps my students will get the opportunity to recreate these different topics of discussion. For example, we will be able to take recreate the water cycle directly in our classroom, instead of only reading about it in a book. I believe that my students will have gain a deeper understanding of the material by getting the opportunity to do hands on experiments. Some of my students struggle to visualize the concepts when they are only hearing words, however I have discovered that they are able to grasp these concepts when they are seeing it develop before their own eyes.
