These long-sleeve art smocks are specifically chosen so my students can do art (especially painting) with abandon and not worry about ruining some of their only nice clothes that they wear to school! A majority of my art students are from low-income households that can't afford lots of extra clothing OR art smocks themselves, so this project solves both those issues! Most of my art budget for the school year was spent on stocking our completely empty classroom with basic art supplies at the beginning of the year. I did not have anything left over for things like art tables, smocks, drying racks, etc. This is our most immediate need right now. As a bonus, the smock color is orange (one of our school colors) and the principal has been wanting to build school spirit, so this supports not only art classes but the school community!
