Give a child the tools to express themselves and they will create beautiful things! Providing my students with a variety of medias, such as oil pastels and watercolors, to illustrate their ideas and tell a story using different techniques is my goal. In our classroom, I teach my students art vocabulary: shape, line, balance, texture, color, value. I teach them to really look at objects and observe details. I teach them about notable artists and book illustrators. I teach step by step lessons to develop their focus and attention to detail. We are a classroom full of little Picassos in the making!
