My school believes in meeting students where they are to motivate them and watch them grow. In my classroom, I believe in individual meetings, small groups, and hands-on literacy, writing, and math centers. My school utilizes daily 5 and I will use these items to enhance the students' engagement and learning. Hands-on is always a better learning experience. The student will take what they learn home and be more likely to retain the concept and have an excitement about learning and coming to school every day! First grade is an important grade in school, a time for learning and starting a journey to enjoy school.
