During the COVID-19 crisis, the Department of Education provided Apple iPads for children to use at home while working remotely for safety. I have been using the NYDOE STEM provided Mindcraft Education software with them and love having them use this game-based learning platform that promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving - even mindfulness. This platform allows me to see into their world and meet them and work with them in their comfort zones. The students and I can join each other's worlds and I can counsel them as we interact using the project-based lessons. We do not have access to a Mindcraft Education compatible iPad in the school building. I am looking for funding to have one in the school building that can be used for this project-based learning.
