Students learn best in a comfortable, cooperative environment. My goal is to help create such an environment by redesigning the learning space into something that does not resemble the traditional industrial model of education. Instead of desks in rows, student need flexibility in seating arrangements and a student centered learning environment that encourages them to collaborate and create with each other. A comfortable, newly designed learning space encourages, cooperation and risk taking. Soft seating and carpets may seem like a frivolous luxury, however many educators and students are coming to the realization that the best classrooms are the ones that not only engage in educational practices that encourage students to become innovators, thinkers and producers and match those practices with a comfortable and inviting physical space.

About my class
