Our school has a lot of students who have a trauma filled backgrounds, which then comes up in the classroom, regularly. Our school has decided to implement calming corners to assist our students with handling their emotions. This area gives them a comfortable, safe space to relax and collect themselves. The pillows will comfort, while the shower curtain can provide them with a moment of privacy while they collect themselves. Within the calming corner will be some tools to assist the students to getting to a calm, and relaxed state of mind, where they are can join their peers again.
